Club 3 La55 -l iltotij How well we remember the day in September, 1951, when we entered for the first time the portals of Lincoln High as the greenest of green freshmen, to gaze with awe upon the mighty seniors. Under the leadership of President Bob Blaski, Vice President Fay Rich, and Secretary-Treasurer Marni Helmke, and with the capable advice of Coach MacDonald and Miss Chapman, we were deter- mined to make ourselves known. We held up our end of the Homecoming by put- ting on the snake dance and bonfire for the students. Then suddenly we were no longer the lowliest of the low, but we, as Sophomores, had someone to look down on. This year we elected Rich Wilson as President, Jane Woodie as Vice President, and Carol Newell as Secretary- Treasurer. Our advisors were Mr. Soper and Mr. Olingy. As our first experi- ence in putting on a school dance we made a success of our Fall Frolic. Upperclassmen ] Our officers for this eventful year were Paul Johnson, President; Fay Rich, Vice President; and JoAnn Carlson, Secretary-Treasurer; with Miss Auger, Miss Cook, and Mr. Wilson as advisors. This year saw the debut of a new orchestra, The Jolly Juniors plus Four, which played for all of the after-the-game dances put on by our class. Ordering and receiving our class rings was much looked forward to, but putting on our Prom, South Pa- cific, was even more exciting. JoAnn Carlson and Larry Gilbertson were crowned king and queen on that evening. Something different and much appre- ciated was the Post-Prom party at the Country Club, sponsored by the Jaycees. 2h
