He has been connected with the Paris Public Schools since his arrival. serving three years as Principal of the East Paris School. and nine years as Principal of the First Ward School. He became Principal of the high school in 1926, and held that position until january, 1931, at which time he became Superintendent on the death of Prof. J. G. YVooten. Mr. Chamness has directed the City Schools in a very capable manner and is beloved and admired by all the stu' dents in the Paris Schools. Mr. Chamness received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the East Texas State Teachers Col' lege in Commerce in 1922, and received his Master of Arts degree from Southern Methodist University at Dallas, in 1929.
