l 2 SCHOOL CALENDAR February- 1 3- 5- i3- I4- 18- 21- 26- 97- Prizes awarded to winners in basketball tournament. Sister Celine's senior pupils presented recital. Student Council pins arrived. Fourteen band members represented the Paris Band at the U. of A. in the State Clinic. Sophomore class meeting. Home lic Club presented program. Sweetheart of Campus title was won by Rosalyn Schriver. Home lic Club members served at the P.T.A. Founder's Day program. Waltz Time was presented by Glee Club. Senior boys won over Dardanelle boys in basketball game. Senior basketball team played in tournament at Mansfield. The Glee Club again presented VValtz Time at Scranton. 28-Senior class meeting. March- 4-Basketball game with Waldron. 5- 5- 13- Report cards again. Nothing like a little forgery, is there? Basketball game with Coal Hill. Senior class presented a program, Sweethearts on Parade. I4- Charm and Personality plus Character film was presented by Student Council. I9-Pales Rina Choir from St. Scholastica School of Ft. Smith presented a pro- gram. Ql- Band members attended a district contest in Enid, Oklahoma. The junior class presented Little Miss Somebody, their annual play. L8-Test day with lots of copying, as usual. April- 4-Spring fever, Here is thy sting. Senior invitations arrived. 8-Basketball game between the junior high girls and senior boys I0-junior high basketball game. ll-Lots and lots and lots of tests. 14-The seniors were measured for caps and gowns. l5-The sophomores gave a one act play, Quiet Home VVedding. I7-Flag football game. 18-The seniors presented their annual senior play, Daphne 19-County teachers' meeting. 22-A representative from the College of Ozarks made talk to senior class. The B.XcP.W. Club gave the senior girls a tea at the home of Mrs. Harlan VValker. 24-Baseball game with New Blaine boys Nay- l-Last lazy lap began . . . May Day program at Grade School. 4-Patsy Ruth Seveyrac, assisted by Dorothy Kury, presented a recital at the home of Mrs. Harlan X'Valker. 5-Mrs. Harlan VValker presented a group of seniors in a program at the Coterie Club. 6-Mrs. Walker presented her voice pupils in a recital. 7-Billy Bob Reames assisted in a recital. 12-Mr. Soule presented his pupils in a recital. l5-Annual junior and Senior Banquet. I6-Time off for studying. Final tests began. 23-Last day of school. Some seniors are still handing out cards. 25-Baccalaureate Sermon. 26-Commencement exercises. 27-Poor juniors, now they can have a day off.

SCHOOL CALENDAR September- A -School opened. Oh, the sad facesl Down to work, and on the second day of school too. -Defeated Charleston 39 to 0 in first football game of season. Sarah Hardwicke, Rose Ann Blattler, Gene Johnson, and XV. Connaug- ton were chosen cheer leaders. Class sponsors chosen. Defeated Mena in football game, I8 to 7. October- ' -Defeated in football game by Russellville Cyclones, 7 to 13. Mary johnson elected president of Home Ec Club. Miss Mary Alice Carmichael again chosen sponsor for the Paris Eagle. Eagle staff chosen with Don Elliott as editor. Defeated Atkins in spectacular football game, I3 to 7. Football squad sees Ark.-Baylor game at Fayetteville. First edition of Paris Eagle. Mr. Kinder, magician, gave a program. YValdron defeated the Paris Eagles to the tune of 6 to 31 in tough football game. Six weeks test. Betty Thompson won title of football queen by a landslide. 32 to 0 victory over Hartford in homecoming football game. November- Thrilling football game with Morrilton, score 0 to 0. Defeated Clarksville 13 to 7 in football game. Football boys were entertained at Father and Son Banquet at Christian Church. Lost football game to Mansfield, 7 to 0. Football boys defeated by Booneville boys, 7 to 0. Annuals arrived. Better late than never. Sophomore girls defeat senior girls in spectacular basketball game. Dismissed for Thanksgiving Holidays. December- School re-opens after Thanksgiving Holidays. Student Council organized. Regular basketball season opens. Private band recital. Mrs. Harlan YValker presented Senior High in recital. Contata by Glee Club. The Glee Club was taken to the Army-Navy Hos- pital in Fayetteville by the local V. F. XV. post to entertain the veterans of the hospital. Dismissed for Christmas Holidays. Public band recital. E111 ll 'Ily- Students reluctantly came back to school. Speech on University of Arkansas by Paul Davis, one of our former students. Recruiting officer made talk to senior boys. Annual staff chosen. Began work on the '47 annuals by having some pictures made. ls it worth it? Three senior boys leave for arn1y: Gene Garrett, Buford Anderson, and Billy Hixson. Fourteen band members attended Navy band concert in Fort Smith. Junior high basketball game and thrilling donkey basketball game. New band uniforms arrived. District basketball tournament.
