Despite the icy rainfall and bone-chilling cold that accompanied half-time, the band and flag girls performed admirably. Their performance was topped off with releasing two thousand orange balloons by four football players who joined the band on the trip specifically for this job. After the show, band members watched the Bears win their game and loaded the bus for the trip home. The kids had more than earned their dinner, which was served at the Redwood Inn in Kankakee. 25
