F. H. A. The Panola Future Homemakers Chapter began their club work of the year by inviting new members to the club. The new members were: Robbie Cash, Edna Mae Cunningham, Dorotha Mae Foster, Onatta Grayson, Wanda Moore, Voleta Huffman, Nadine Mankin, Alma Smith and Janie Warren. There are twenty-four members in the club this year. LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE The Poteau F. H. A. Club invited the local chapter to their school, October Znd, for the annual Leadership Conference. Twelve schools were present with approximately ZOO girls attending. The rally was over at three o'clock, but the girls spent the remainder of the afternoon shopping in Poteau. At five-thirty a group of tired girls arrived at Panola. HOME ECONOMICS DAY On November lZth, National Home Economics Day was observed at the Panola Home Economics Department. In the afternoon there was an assembly program to tell the school patrons what is being accomplished in the homemaking classes At two o clock a tea was given at the homemaking building with the Junior I-Iomemakxng girls being hostesses A motion picture was shown to the school Are You Popular CHRISTMAS PARTY The Future Homemakers Christmas Party was given December 20th in the Home Economics living room Edna Mae Query and Robbie Gray were the hostesses who planned various games Bags of popcorn were served and gifts were exchanged A clever game was played for opening the gifts F H A YEAR S WORK September bringing in the new members October working for the good of homes for all November educational opportunity in community December family relations in foreign countries Guest speaker was Mr Thomas Pate January good citizenship in the home February family problems March health clinic April love never faileth May achievement day NATIONAL PROJECT The Panola F H A has chosen for their national project of the year to help with the adoption of a German Homemakmg Class McAlester Crowder Red Oak and Panola have sent gift packages to this class A friendly relationship with t German Class has been developed by the girls through letters of appreciation ZZ I . . . . , , ' I I U 9 n A . . .
