Especially memorable were the tie with Arcadia and the come from behind win over Van Buren. There were also some very notable individual performances during the season. Quarterback Brad Alt set school records for most passes (160) most completions (63), yards passing (923), TD passes (12), as well as interceptions (16). Mike George was selected first team all BVC and also led the team in tackles. Brian George had a 93 yd. interception return for a TD and a punt return for a TD. Bob Siefer had a 90 yd, kick return for a TD and ended the season with 1156 yds. rushing. These individual accomplishments came from a ee team effort. Tri-Captains, Left to Right: Tom Gerdeman, Brad Alt, Mike George The coaching staff felt that the team never developed or played to their greatest potential. We would like to thank the seventeen seniors on the team for their leadership and efforts as well as wish them the best of luck in their futures. 1 9 8 2 V 0 1 1 e y b a 1 1 Varsity First row. Led by Co-Captains Tom Gerdeman and Brad Alt the Rockets compiled a 6-15 record. Many of the games were decided by close margins. The Rockets seemed to play their best games against highly ranked teams. They provided the fans with competitive, exciting basketball. The Rockets capped their season by making it to the Sectional Finals, before being defeated by Miller City. The season did not produce many victories for the win column, but the freshmen provided exciting basketball for the fans. The team displayed scrap and hustle for loose balls and rebounds, and with some improvement in their shooting and more consistency in their game, the won-lost record will improve. 77 Varsity Kneeling, Left to Right: Margaret Maag, Teresa Sigler, Standing, Coach Mark Williams, Shelly Alt, Kim Alt, Teresa Moser, Annette Niese, Natalie Gerten, Chris Koenig, Ann Crawfis, MGR; Susan Lather a s e t b a 1 1 Kneeling, Left to Right: Clara Barrientes, Lynn Schulte, Shelly Alt, Dana Dukes, Melissa Goddard, Isabel Barrientes, Standing, Coach Mark W’illiams, Connie Cain, Kathy Long, Rachelle Gerten, Lisa Stall, Tracy Cottle, Shelly Morris, Kim Steffen, MGR; Susan Lather The 1983 Girls Basketball season was one of both achievement and disappointment. It only seems like yesterday that the MIRROR Staff met for the first time, looked around the room at each other and said, “Well, what do we do now?” No one in the group, including myself, ever had any experience in putting together a yearbook. At first there was a great deal of confusion, but after attending a Jos ten’s Workshop, and getting a great deal of help from our Yearbook Rep. — Lou Seddlemeyer — we finally got things moving in a positive direction. Besides doing the paperwork necessary to complete a yearbook, we also had to get out and sell books and advertisements. We tried several other money making projects throughout the year to generate more money for our production. Our calendar sale and two dances were very successful and would not have been possible without your support. The MIRROR is for you and you make it all happen. I would like to thank the Faculty and Administration of the Pandora-Gilboa Schools for their cooperation during the school year. I would also like to thank Mr. Lou Seddlemeyer of Jostens for his help and advice in putting this book together. You as a reader should also be thanked for your support in purchasing the 1983 MIRROR. Finally, I want to thank the Staff of the 1983 MIRROR for their dedicated efforts in helping to make this publication possible. W’e learned a great deal together this year and now that our job is done, we can be proud of what we have accomplished. We hope that you enjoy reading the 1983 MIRROR as much as we enjoyed producing it for you. Thanks to all of you once again for your support. See you in the MIRROR, Ron Matter, Mirror Advisor Parting Shots: 142 143 144 I I
