Emp' ' .Xgain this year, as last, we were so greatly handicapped by rationing and travel conditions as to practically eliminate all outside matches. However. under the able supervision of Coach Greer. there was quite a lot of competition between the various members of the team. Frank laccino, a promis- ing Junior held the top spot on the squad while Bob Baker, Bill Souers and -lack lfrakes fought bitterly for the other top positions. In ordinary times we have had numerous matches with the various teams in the state. but this year our only out-of-town matches were a pair with Phoenix Union. The first, on Mr. Greer ,Xpril 1, we won by the close score of -l-3. The second was played later in the year. The members of our team who competed were lfrank lacciano. Bill Souers, Bob Baker. jack Frakes, and Ed King. Our two doubles teams consisted of lacciano and Frakes, Baker and Souers. Besides this, the State Open and Red Cross tournaments provided the chief C0111- petition tor us with Bill Souers coming through to win the city Junior Men's Singles. The Head Net Men
