Up and eoming Raul l,njan took an easy hrst in the mile run in 4142.8 with XYilson second. Finishing off the meet the 'FHS relay team eomposecl of llatiste. Poston. Montgomery, ancl l,ent took first in the L6 mile relay in l f3'l'.5. The purpose of this meet was to cletermine who was qualified to compete in the state meet to be heltl the following week. That is. a man was 1'Cqllfl'CLl to place hrst, second oi' thirtl to become eligible to take part in th coming competition be- tween the tlistriet winners of the state. Because of transportation tlitiieulties no team eoultl have more than a fifteen man squacl, which left out many of the Tucson traekmen from the competition, otherwise it may have been possible for the school to gain more if not all of the points.
