Girls Basketball J.V. The Palm Springs J.V. Cirls basketball team played good basketball this season. Sue Collins was voted Most Valuable Player of the team as her over all good play led to many wins. The Indians plaved hard and exciting ball and gave their best ef- fort in alt games. The team will have many members on Varsity next year and, hope- fully, Keep up their winning traaition. 1. Palm Springs girls can get up high. 3. Hot potatoe. Hot potatoe. Who is gonna get it now. 4. Hey, what are you doing? You two are on the same team. 5. Cet off me girl! 6. The 1981 Cirls Basketball team. 7. All-league, Rosemary Til- mon dunks two more points for Palm Springs. Varsity The Indian girls finished with a 10-5 reford in the Sunbelt League, finishing behind Norco for the cham- pionship. All-CIF member, Rosemary Tilman led PS to a winning season this year. Her rebounding and scoring were excellent as ihrougn much of the season she was leading the CiF in rebound- ing with over 20 a game. Laurie and Leah Wiltgen played tough defense and contributea needed scoring rebounding , in the back- court, Maria Fidler Cyn- thia Maxwell teamed up as a quick pair of guards who were the playmakers of the team, in their first round game of CiF the Indians were matched up against South Hills, one of the top ranked teams in the 3-A di- vision. Palm Springs kept it close all the way made So. Hills play their top game. Though they lost, 48-40, Coach Larry Zeno his squad had another good year and expect them to be even better next yr.

Varsity Soccer The 1980-81 Varsity Soccer Team finished second in the Sunbelt League with a re- cord of 14-6-3. The team made C.I.F. In the first round they beat North High at home. In the second round they lost to Carey High at Carey. The Captain, Luis Marquez was named MVP in the SBL, he also was named 1st team All League along with teammates David Orozco, Er- win Kramer, Danny Sipovac. Jim Lam- bert Todd Harrington were named on 2nd team All League. Congratulations to the whole team for a super season! 1. The 1981 Soccer Team. 2. Luis tries some fancy footwork on opposing member. 3. Goalie |im Lambert always has his hands full. 4. The other team tries taking the ball away from Luis, but they never succeed. 5. An opposing member tries pushing David out of the way, but Julio is there to back him up. 6. The opponents try double-team- ing David, but even under pressure David still comes through. 7. Captain, Luis Marquez, and John Terricciano talk things over with Coach Kil- gore. 8. John puts pressure on an opposing team member. 9. Julio tries going around Corona ' s player, but slips and falls.
