Smoke Signals Every two weeks the students received a special treat, the school paper called Smoke Signals was published and passed around, (free of charge) The staff worked very hard to inform the students and faculty about the latest scoops around the campus and valley. Led by their advisor Robert Andrade, the staff compiled very interesting articles. Edi- tor Robyn Ardies was always kept busy and Cathy Grofer did the typesetting. Brett MacHale was the associate editor. 1. Fall Semester Smoke Signals staff poised behind their Multilith Offset Press as the first issue of the high schools newspaper rolls off the press. 2. Spring Semester Smoke Signals staff gathers as the April Fools addition goes to press. Chia Staff The Chia staff worked very hard on the 1981 yearbook. Since school began until April 3rd they spent many hours, after school, week- ends, and vacation days making lay- outs, cropping pictures and writing copy (like this) to get the school memories together in time before school was over. This year the staff was guided by advisor John McKee, who worked with his head editor Renee Smith. Renee spent many hours cleaning-up pages and helping the staff on their different sections. She said she would have never finished the book if it hadn ' t been for the rest of the staff and especially Remo Melucci, who was the head photographer. The rest of the staff typed, pasted pictures, sold advertisement, and did many different things. 3. The renound photographers and gofers of the yearbook staff. 4. The yearbook staff cooling off after a hot deadline. 5. Kymberii displays her lighting speed at copywriting be- tween trips to the athletic field. 6. Tracy checking her points and picas. 7.
