ENROLLMENT 1 he first location of Palm Beach Junior College was in what is now the science build- ing of Palm Beach High School. Jn 1947 the college moved to its second site at Morrison Field, now Palm Beach Air Force Base. There the students en- joyed dormitory life and made use of recreational facilities, in- cluding tennis courts, volleyball courts, and a swimming pool. JVl orrison Field was reactivated in 1951 and PBJC moved to its third temporary home in the city hall of the Town of Lake Park. 1 n September 1 956, on a 1 1 4-acre tract near Lake Os- borne, the first of five modern buildings was completed, and the doors were opened to the largest student body in PBJC history. President John I. f Among the notables present were: Governor Leroy Collins, Judge Russell O. Morrow, Mr. Henry Earwood, and Mr. Roy Michael. One of the high lights of the year was the luncheon sponsored by the Lions Club in honor of Dr. John L. Leonard.
