Two events taking place which help students be- come better acquainted are the CO-ED CLUB PICNIC held early in the school year and the Sunday afternoon activities at Singer Island. Freshmen and sophomores gather at the beach and en- gage in water skiing, swim- ming, and learning the fun- damentals of aqua lung div- ing. (jet Acquainted Dance I s sophomores and freshmen packed into the Ameri- i ' can Legion Home, we pushed our way to the dance floor where about all we could do was stand and sway. As the night got older and much warmer, the crowd quieted long enough for the floor show, which was en- joyed by all. Many visits were made to the refreshment table where cake and punch were in much demand. As the evening progressed tables had to be moved to pro- vide additional dancing area. After a few rounds of Bunny Hop and a case of Double Charlie Horse, we made our way to Merletto ' s, Sportsman ' s or some other quieter place to rock ' til two or three.
