Most Worthy Mariner Tim Fisher 4: 'F' N., QQ, Y- ' 1, . Scholarship, Tim Fisher has participated in just about every facet of school life ati Pacifica. His enthusiastic and successful participation in leadership, scho- lastics, spirit and athletics have earned him the title of Most Worthy Mariner. Tim has been a most impressive figure in school leadership. He was a three year member ofthe yearbook staff, earning the position of editor of the 1979 REEF. He is a member of the Key Club, one of Pacifica's most outstanding service clubs. His overwhelming amount of spirit and dedica- tion saw him elected to the post of Vice President of the 1978-79 ASB cabinet, and with Tim's presence and guidance, the Cabinet saw one of its most successful terms ever He was selected to be a dele ate to both Bo s - 8 Y State in 1978 and A Presidential Classroom for Young Americans in 1979. He was also the Co-Chairman for this year's Nominating Conven- tion along with Brad Helm. In the classroom, Tim maintained a 3.6 grade point average. He is an student, and his achievements in classroom activities and service Honors earned him the Rotary Club Scholarship for Service Beyond Self. Tim was also very active in the Drama department and was the student director of Pacifica's production of And Then There Were None in his junior year. Tim is also in Who's Who in American High School Students. Athletically, Tim was also active. He was a member of both the Cross Country and Track team three years in a row. He lettered in Cross Country and Track in his junior year and was a member of the first Track team to win a League Title for Pacifica. After graduation Tim plans to attend UCLA and major in law. But no matter where Tim is, his outgoing personality and dedica- tion will doubtlessly further him to even bigger and better , achievements than he has seen here at Pacifica. , W, .w. The field of women's athletics is a quickly rising world and it is because of athletes like Misty Campbell that this field is finally receiving the recognition it deserves. For her talent and achievements in girls sports at Pacifica, Misty has earned the award of Mariner of the Year . Misty's career began in volleyball. She was unable to play Varsity volleyball her freshman year due to the CIF ruling that does-abt allow Pacifica Freshmin to play on Varsity team. This only held her back momentarily though, and she was soon playing on the Varsity team in her sophomore year. She was vot6i1fMost Valuable Player of her varsity volleyball team. ng-. Basketball was Misty's best sport and she played on the team for four years, on thejunior varsity team her freshman and sophomore years and on the Varsity team her junior and senior years. She was voted Most Valuable Player of the junior Varsity basketball team. Her talents did not end with just two sports, though. Misty played Varsity softball herjunior and senior years. Obviously, her talents are many sided, for they also extend into the classroom. She has maintained a 3.2 average while taking such difficult courses as Functional Math Analysis and Physics. Misty plans to attend Cal Poly Pomona and wants to become an engineer. She hopes to continue her athletic career and if she does, she will probably bring the distinction to women's sports that is deserved. otal Contribution Wendy Kincaid's talents have displayed themselves in many areas during her three years at Pacifica. Her talent and effort in the Drama department, her unique leadership ability, her dedication and enthusiasm in all areas of school activity have earned her the award of this year's Most W-orthy Mariner . Wendy's talent in theatrics is the most notable of her achievements. Although she has only been in two of Pacifica's plays, We're No An- gles , and L'And Then There Were None , Wendy possesses a talent that shines out in any production. A member of CSF, Wendy will graduate a Seal Bearer and was this year's CSF President. She is an Honors student and has maintained a 3.8 grade point average. She was assistant editor of El Corriente the first half of her senior year and was a staff writer in her junior year. She was a delegate to this year's Nominating Convention and Mariner of the Month in her junior year. Although Wendy is not yet absolutely sure which college she will attend, she is considering going into some drama related field. She also hopes to study writing, having a great talent for writing as well as acting. But no matter what Wendy decides to do, her ambition, dedication, charisma and motivation will be sure to make her a success. Her outgoing personality and warmth have made her an asset to Pacifica High School as well as all those she knows. Wendy is truly a most worthy Mariner. Con- gratulations, Wendy.
