A unique addition to the teaching staff of the Vocational cmd Industrial Arts Department was Mr. Roger Hall. He was a member of Pacific's first graduating class in l953. Sharing new teaching duties along with Mr. Hall were Mr. Bill Ferris, Mr. Keith Simpkins and Mr. Howard Clark. The agricultural branch of this department handled the construction of the new Pacific Bowl. The 4H field iudging day was held here where 400 to 450 boys and girls from as far as Victorville and Barstow came for a practice iudging contest. They entered into five judging contests including Farm Mechanics, Dairy, Live- stock, Poultry, Land, and lnsect iudging. These contests were climaxed by the State Finals in San Luis Obispo. at ' f 495 - ' CARLTON oLos Xi Drafting, B.A., Chico State College. l KEITH SIMPKINS Machine Shop, B.A., UCLA. The agricultural department raised these turkeys from chicks. Various classes of Pacific were able to purchase them for their Thanksgiving Baskets, add- ing another means of fund raising to the active W , ,g department. g . .
