The Industrial Arts program is divided into two major areas -- an industrial program and a vocational program. These two groups were made up of outstanding junior and senior boys only. These boys spent two years in vocational shop and then went into industrial shop where they specialized in their chosen field to a greater degree than in previous years. Vocational shop consisted of three periods a day, whereas indus- trial shop was made up of two periods a day. This training on the high school level gave the students six months towards their four year apprentice- ship, where they would begin at two dollars an hour. Select boys were recommended by the instructors here at Pacific to the Joint Apprenticeship Board where they were interviewed and tested.
