Uaefty Janie Ruth Adams, the maid, offers a magazine to Mrs. Hudson's visitor, played by Judy Patterson. QBelowl J.R. I-lalydier, as Bobby Merrick, is rescued from the lake and revived by Janice Spencer, Ann Bag- gett, Janie Ruth Adams, Benny Friend, Brock Jones and Carl Conklin. This incident indirectly brought about the death ofDr, Hudson QMike Claytonl about whom the entire play revolves. Martha Bailey Kas Helen I-Iud sonj rejoices with Janice Spencer, J. R. Directed By . . Mr. Haskell Leath The climax of the play arrives when the reporter is attacked by Mrs. Winthrop, and another mur- der is narrowly averted. QRightl Susie is rescued by Roy and Mary Lou, while Carol pretends to faint. In the di s t r i c t competition in Sonora, Roy Mann was placed on the All-Star cast and Carol Blackstone received honorable mention. Our one-act play, directed by Mr. Leath, drama- tized the story ofa man nearly driven insane by the belie f that he had murdered his uncle, although the uncle's wife is the real murderer Qabovel Carol Blackstone gave an excellent portrayal of the selfish, bitter, old woman, who berate S her lawyer for not attending to her business. Much of the comedy was furnished by the antics of B eve rl y Killingsworth and Roy Mann, right, as colored servants in Adam's household.
