gave! jduafeea The dustruct Board at Trustees has been a turm and never faulung power behund the school through out the 49 50 term lust as ut has un past years They have worked dulugently to uphold the tune standards of operatuon that Oxnard Unuon Hugh School has come to krow throughout uts forty nune years at exustence Thus year the Board was composed of Mr J Leroy Fulton Presudent Mr M D McKunna Jr Vuce Presudent Mr Henry H Neul Clerk at the Board Mr Fred A Snyder and Mr Muke J Vu uovuch Mr L A Wuemers was Secretary to the Board whule Mr Axel Jenson attended the meet ungs un the capacuty ot Busuness Manager for the school Besudes uounlng for theur regular meetungs on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month Among theur numerous actuvutues thus year the Board has made great strudes towards the tuna' completuon of the plans for the new school whuch us to be buult on the present school sute They have also been duscussung constructuon of a new hugh school un the Eastern end ot the Dustruct whuch uf buult would take care ot the students un that fast growung area Supt L A Wuemers Under our Superuntendent L A Wuemers a n w and extensuve buuldung program us goung forward The Agruculture buuldung wull be almost completed by the tume the C and G goes to press Temporaruly un use as an admunustratuon buuldung ut wull later be used for agru culture classes Mr Wuemers worked closely wuth the board and together they were able to see to com pletuon many of the long rough plans of the Melbo Report a survey made last year The school year saw changes un curruculum and polucy and had always the end result un mund of a better stu dent un a better world 3 . . . , ' g . . . Su y of 4,4 Jt,1e40,,,9 Mu Mrs Westervelt who has been a teacher at Oxnard for a long tume became Dean of Gurls last year Thus year she became gurls coun e'or helpung gurls choose courses and counselung them wuth theur personal problems The boy s counselor Dr Joseph W Crosby came to Oxnard from U S C Dr Crosby funds tume from hus uob of fullung out programs regusterung new students and counselung the boys on theur personal problems to be advusor for the recently formed Boys Federatuon Do tor Crosby also had complete charge of the very successful Career Day Mr C A l-louser held a posutuon wuth the L A schools before comung to Oxnard home and school keeps hum so busy that he had to resugn from hus post of odvusor for the Boys Federatuon Besudes teachung math here at OUl-lS Mr Summers has charge of the adult educa ton classes Approxumately half these classes are conducted at OUHS whule the others are located un voruous other parts of the school dustrurt Mr Summers taught un Mussouru and Aruzona before comung to Calufornua Much us owed these members of the faculty for theur generous guudance and unre payabl aud to the students of our dear Alma Mater I O Q elfl , ' A , ' If ' ' s . , ' A I two years ago. l-lis job of keeping the students in school and acting as a mediator between I U I l - e ' - . , ' ' l S 55- ' l
