Glrls Athletlcs The gurls have been quute actuve thus vear A playday was the furst actuvuty un whuch the gurls partucupated Thus was held November 20 The gurls from Santa Clara were unvuted Volleyball tennus and baseball were the maun events After lunch the gurls aduourned to the audutoruum for a program put on by the OUI-lS gurls Samethung new and dufferent was sponsored by the GAA thus year Thu was a pugtaul day a contest among the gurls to see whuch one would be chosen Muss Pugtaul of OUHS After three days the Student Body aduourned to the audutoruum where co captauns of the football team Ruch ard l-lugbee and Bud Bullunger awarded the wunne s large rubbons whuch they tued on the pugtauls Pruzes were awarded for the longe t shortest neatest straughtest part and cutest pugtauls Arlune Arbuckle was chosen as all round pugtaul gurl and obtauned the tutle of Muss Pugtaul of OUI-IS An excutung game of basketball was held un the gym between the uunuor and sen or gurls The lun ors were the vuctors wuth a score of Zl to Z4 Thus was so close that the senuors felt themselves capable of defeatuna the ,unuors and so challenged tnem to another game Thus was held at nught wuth admussuon of ten cents Thus was the furst gurls game un seven years to be held at nught After a very breath takung game the score favored the senuors 29 to 25 The furst game counted un the untermurals but the second one gave the sensors a great satusfactuon On March 25 a sprung Backward Dance was held Thus was a very gala affaur the g m beung very colorfully decorated wuth streamers bruck walls benches and palm trees The couples danced to the musuc of l-lerby Gaertner O , Q . f I . - 1 -F 11 - - -1 J I . . ,, . . . ,, - I - ' r , .
