Root, Yice-l'rcs- ide-nt: A. Cowe. Secretary: Mr. Brown. Adviser. Keystone Year ET LYS compare our school life to the great game of baseball. When we were in grade school. we were in the minor leagues. ln .lunior High School we were promoted to the second string in the major leagues. But. now the going was getting rough. Our amhition was to get on the first string team. Finally we made it at the end of the eighth grade. and each of us was given a chance to decide what position in the field he wanted. This, of course. meant choosing a special course. The first year we started working in earnest to make at least first base. ln other words. we were working on the points that would deter- mine the hit or strike-out we might make in our future careers. At the end of our freshman year we were on first base. Then as sophomores with our instructors drilling the fundamentals of the game into us, we were striving toward second base, still specializing in order to hecome more proficient in our chosen courses. After our regular work was done, we began to explore other fields in order to broaden our interests and skills. lVlanv of the sophomores are in U. F. Afs concert chorus. orchestra or band. Some of the girls in this vearls Sophomore Class have made very good cheerleaders and majorettes. Some of the hoys have made their mark in sportsg basketball. wrestling, etc. All of our sophomore activities have been well planned, largely because of the very good work of our adviser. Mr. Browng our class president. Pete Malloryg our vice-president Gary llootg our secretary. Allan Cowe and our treasurer, Alice liussell. School. like basehall. is based on the in- dividual's ability as well as that of the team. Vile are learning to Hplay the game and whether we win or lose we will try to lrecome good sportsmen in every sense of the word.
