The Biggest Game of ll APPY DAY! Safe at home plate with the pennant! Our teachers, the faithful coaches responsible for our attainment of that most coveted pen- nant, the graduation diploma, regard their team as a most promising group to compete with Life in the World Series of Tomorrow. Our captain, the class president, heartily congratulates each player as we trot off the educational ball field. Our managers, Miss Goodrich and Mr. Collings, are proud that their efforts have successfully guided our team to a victory over our most distinguished and diflicult opponent, the New York State Regents. Our scores, posted on report cards after each base hit, reflect the pleasing batting average of our team as we scored hit upon hit and won each base in rotation-freshman, sophomore, junior, and senior. We won them alll Realizing at last the merit of our batting averages, we wish to thank our parents, the team mascots, for providing the encouragement and incentive necessary to accept victory or defeat in a sportsmanlike manner. And now, as we go forth to compete in the World Series of Life, we are sad, but yet exultant, knowing that our places will not be vacant, but filled with a new and perhaps greater team, the Youth of America, having the same hopes, the same despairs, and the same obstacles to surmount. We wish them success with all our hearts, and as we pass through the gateway of our stadium, Owego Free Academy, and see far ahead the shining reward of victory in the biggest game of all- the game of Life-may the greatest umpire of all, our Cod in Heaven. look down and say, '4lVly children, you have played the game and played it wellg so, may you dwell in the House of the Lord foreverfi DEAR FELLOW CLASSMATES, Our years in high school can be compared to spring training in baseball. The teachers have coached us in playing the game and have now put us on our own. Whether we get on base or strike out is yet to be determined. No matter how the games goes, we shall always recall with joy the good times we have had at 0.F.A. l shall cherish all of your friendships and remember the fine cooperation you have given me. It has been a great honor to be your president. Now may I wish you the best of luck, and may Cod bless you and be at your side always. Sincerely, lim Skellenger SENIOR CLASS PRESIDENT 5, .
