We selected Eloise as the mascot of the
class of June 1960 because
she embodies the carefree spirit of youth. We
aspire to emulate her cheery
optimism in our future
endeavors. Throughout her years at Overbrook she has
proven her many abilities.
Years from now when
through the pages of our Record we
will fondly recall
the eventful days we spent at Overbrook.
Thus we have chosen Eloise
to help relive our experiences.

Ever since the opening of Overbrook High
School, the yearbook of the graduating class has
been called The Record, a title which l believe
to be the most appropriate one possible. Between
these covers the history of your careers in high
school has been recorded-with, we hope, the
high Fidelity now so popular.
As you "play backv this record in the years
to come, you will re-create in some measure the
activities you pursued in Overbrook, l hope that
it reminds you not only of pleasant moments and
good friends, but also of the years of work by
you and your teachers which prepared you for
your adult life. Your school has provided the
studio and the recording equipment, but each of
you has, in his or her own way, provided the
talent for the recording. May this record always
bring you pleasure and satisfaction, and may it
be a long-playing one.
