...TILL WE MEET G I DEAR CLASS oif JUNE, 1946, Now as you graduate from high school, you stand upon the threshold of a new era. There is the possibility of new forces being let loose upon a helpless world, already plans for a new type of international control of these forces are groping their way toward formulation. But I ask you to remember, as we say good-bye, that not by government alone will the forces of destruction be controlled, but by a new idealism -one that arises from an unselhsh interest in and enthusiasm for one's fellow creatures, no matter what their position in society. Every young person of the coming genera' tion, no matter what his zihilities, social status, or financial wealth, can and should develop within himself a spiritual light that will lead him to live not for himself alone, but for othersg every one of you who becomes a leader in the new ern will be great insofar as you arc willing to live by and spread the idealism of the new brotherhood throughout the world you touch.
