the Path of Salvation
.........To teach and to pardon, console and bless
always. It is yours, O Priest of jesus Christ!
Our chaplain, Father Robert Burroughs, is responsible for the spiritual guid-
ance of a family numbering close to nine hundred girls. In this vocation,
Father finds ample opportunity to exercise his priestly duties.
For sixteen years Father Burroughs has welcomed freshmen to OLM, pre-
sented sophomores with a true value of charity, and brought to juniors the
realization that all work and no prayer will not merit eternal salvation. But
those who have come to value his work most are his seniors.
Father has drawn us closer to Christ through the sacramentsg he has drawn
us to our Blessed Mother through meditations on the Rosaryg and he has drawn
us to himself through his Christ-like kindness and humor.

By Them Shall We
Dear Graduates,
September saw you, the Class of '61, clothed in new dignity functioning in
official capacity as heads of various school organizations, editing the publica-
tions, effectively discharging duties at the various monitorial posts. October
found you active in drama and debate, and giving more serious attention to
career clubs and the like. It caughtiyou once, too, somber in cap and gown
the evening of the traditional Ring Blessing Ceremony. November showed you
YOU in a somewhat different light. In the silence of a closed retreat, there
was time for you to think, to judge, to weigh your yesterdays that your tomor-
rows might be rightly planned.
And so, the year passed on from month to month with new things ventured,
new things tried, and new things learned. Under the loving guidance of Our
Lady of Mercy your girlhood traits gave place to the character of womanhood.
What you have received is now yours to give. Give unstintingly. In the
measure of your giving lie your own success and happiness.
God love you,
J ' V, Q5Ile.ie.,I..,l?fQ
Sister Mary Frederic, R.S.M.
