THE 1986 OTTOCRAT Otto-Eldred High School Duke Center, PA presents ACKERMAN APPRECIATED After spending many late evenings working with a very efficient and devoted advisor. I. along with the Class of 86. wish to thank Mr. Ackerman. Volunteering his time and effort. Mr. Ackerman worked very closely with the Class of '86 in producing a very successful prom. Even though we fell short in our magazine sale and there were many other setbacks, his supportiveness and enthusiasm were never hampered throughout our junior year. He helped us as a class by lending support and organization and also individually by lending an ear. However, no matter what the situation, he never lost his sense of humor. Our senior year was just as fruitful as the previous year. Thank you. Mr. Ackerman! — Nick Morrisroe President. Class of '86 Terri Ann Albney Teresa L. Southard Renea Marie Welch As our school years rapidly come to a close, look back on the memorable times of our lives as students. Consider the rough places along the way where we learned that there was always someone to push us. Whether it was a friend, a parent, or a teacher, we owe these people a lot — things that we can never repay. Now. as we go out into the world, remember that there were people along the way and try to follow the examples they set for us. Jon IV. Wiedemann CLASS OF 86 OFFICERS — Treasurer — Dodi Gum: Secretary — Laura Graves: VP — Carynj Bhe. President — Nick Morrisroe. Advisor — Mr. Ackerman. Kevin B. Wilcox Steven Scott Wilcox 16 The Class of '86 dedicates its OTTOCRAT to Mr. Edward E. Harrington. Memories of our early years are filled with visions of a jolly man doing his part to make the school days enjoyable. He was never without a joke or a story of his own school years. We then lost contact with him for a few years as Mr. Harrington was named Superintendent of Otto-Eldred School District. When we warily started our high school years, Mr. Harrington was there to make the transition to life as a high school student easier. Since then, this gentleman has very efficiently upheld his post without losing touch with the students. Encountering him during the school days always leads to a unique story. If there is a part of school life that is unsatisfactory to him, he tells us. Likewise, if there is something that he likes, he makes it a point to let us know. This book is dedicated to our Superintendent, Mr. Harrington, in return for his effort to make our school years as memorable as possible. We thank him for everything and wish him well on his retirement. 17 REMEMBER THE TIMES The focus is on the Class of 1986. They have put the finishing touches on years of unfolding their lives at O-E. Like a roll of film, each class member has developed his own particular frame which is part of the completed roll. As their role of seniors comes to a close, we can “remember the times” with a partial photo album. 19 Everyone experiences new challenges at various points of their lives. One of these stages is during his high school career. Junior high students are very special. They go through various experiences such as harassment from upperclassmen. insecurities of their age. and starting life in a completely different environment. Somehow through all this, they make it to become upperclassmen. New and exciting adventures fill the life of an upperclassman. There is hardly a dull moment when time is filled with class dances, purchasing class rings, magazine sale, and finally the prom with memories that can last a lifetime. This collection of pictures will help you remember all those cherishable moments spent at your years at O-E High. CLASS OF 1987 Our magazine sale was a success; we topped our goal! We have high hopes of creating a successful prom. Mrs. Regis and Mr. Ackerman have helped us to start the school newspaper, “The Otto Horn,” in hopes of developing spirit in Otto-Eldred. We are striving to carry our success into next year as we will be seniors. — Joe Skinner President, Class of '87 Paula Angevine Darletta Causer Advisor Miss K.
