Kenneth D. Eike B.S. University of Illinois Vocational Skills Gained Electronics, industrial arts, metal shop, mechani- cal drawing, and woodshop are the vocational courses offered at Ottawa High School for boys. These courses help students to gain knowledge and experi- ence in the fields of engi- neering electronics, mechan- ics, and architecture. The industrial department helps the student receive valuable training in the field which he is concerned. Stan- dards and rules in the shop are exactly the same as they are on thejob. For the girls, courses in cooking, sewing, and home management are offered. Cooking students participate in meal planning and the preparation of tasty foods while sewing students mas- ter techniques of expanding their wardrobes.
