Stanhope Frasier, Capt. Mike McGhee The 1947 Orrville football squad was composed of twenty-seven of the finest boys to work with imaginable. This unusual group of athletes had an incomparably fine mental attitude and mixed this evenly with a terrific will to win. such qualities won the boys a tremendous following of loyal fans and the highest respect of the oppos1tion....How do they do it? what makes them so tough? Where is orrville? what is the secret?.....These were only a few of the many questions of observers and followers concerning the team. It is felt that one group of individuals deserve especial plaudlts in connection with their efforts in behalf of the squad.. Th6 senior members....These boys pictured above, and their buddies on the next page, leave places that coming youngsters will find very hard to f11l..Maybe not from the standpoint of being football stars altogether...but being the kind of individuals that everyone connected with the team was very proud. Their conduct on the prac- tice field and their game time performances was a source of inspi- ration to all the younger boys in school. We must never forget that there is much more to athletics than winning or losing. The world is in dire need of young men with a working know- ledge of right and wrong...These seniors have made a good start in this direction.
