CJRIVIE SCHOOL This is the Orme Experience. A truly unique One! Every September finds new and returning students coming from throughout the United States and overseas to add a new chapter to their lives. In joining the Orme Community, located in the high desert of central Arizona, we have the opportunity to interact and learn from our varied backgrounds. Orme is the nucleus from which we periodically depart to explore the Southwest and Mexico. Our first camping endeavor is the Fall Outing to the high country of the Verde Flim. In the spring we participate in Caravan . We either venture south to visit our fabulous neighbor, Mexico, or north into the spectacular Indian Country of the 4-corners area. One' of the special alternatives is a white-water rafting trip down the Colorado River. During the year our athletic and rodeo teams travel widely to compete all over the state. Periodic field trips, free weekends and shopping sprees keep our transportation center a hub of activity. Orme draws it share of visitors, too. Throughout the year, interesting people from different parts of the world come to the campus. Whether they be guest artists for the Fine Arts Festival, Board of Trustee members attending meetings or speakers and per- formers at the Friday Night Programg they bring the outside world to our community. Our Key Club members are constantly hosting prospective students and their parents. All of this, coupled with the big Parents' Day at Thanksgiving makes Orme an interesting and exciting part of the mainstream of American life. fl 56' kukhihx

SPRING Main Caravan found students and faculty members trucking through Sonora, Mexico, learning about our neighbors while camping out in the countryside. Names such as Kino Bay, Guaymas, Alamos and Magdelena, once only dots on a map, became reality and highlighted visits for everyone. Two other groups traveled southward - Caborca Homestay learned the Mexican way of life first hand rather than from a textbook. Traveling to Guadalajara and Mexico City by train, another group toured ancient pyramids and major points of interest in these fascinating cities. Souveniors, photographs and memories all cleared customs nicely on returning home through Nogales, Mexico.
