A treasure hunt - which took us all over Orland, thanks to Mr. Russell's ingenuity - was enjoyed by all. Our educational trip took us to San Francisco for three days. We visited Fisherman's Wharf, the Planetarium, a theatre production, and other places of interest. Money was raised for our trip by a food sale, and by cupcake sales at school during noon, The C,S,F, school supply booth also was operated as usual by members, The Sealbearers' Banquet was held in the spring, honoring Dick Smithousen, Carol Forbes, Beth Baumgartner, Jacquie Howard, Larry Gleason, Carol Boyles, and Janet Main.

The members helped design a red club plaque from aluminum with Mr. Ellsworth, the advisor, directin Phil Rockholt carved out the head and the lettering, Fred Agabashian, a famous race driver, and one of 49 members of the 100-Mile-an-Hour Club, came to school and talked to the boys about safety and racing.
