Noble, The Future Nurses' Club, one of the newest groups on the Orland High campus, was organized this year under the advisorship of Miss Elsie Hanbury and Mrs. Lawrence Newberry, Our first task was to elect our officers, Jo Ann Graves was elected President, Marie Fitzgerald, Vice President Sheri Heintz, Secretaryg and Arthalyn Nobleg Historian, These officers served the entire year because we didn't organize until nearly the end of the first semester, Our main activity of the year was a pot luck dinner in February, at which a teacher and a nursing student from Chico State spoke to us on Careers and Training for Nurses. For entertainment we had a short talk by Darlene Lowman, who attends Chico State College and is now studying to become a teacher, She was a T,O,T, member last year, She outlined the program of a typical college freshman, We enjoyed another interesting activity when some of the members attended a meeting at Chico State College as guests of Chico State, Pat Blacet, our president, told what our club had done in the past, Another event to add to our wonderful year was a trip to Stanford University on March 8, Every year the group goes to a college of its choice, This has proved to be a very worthwhile activity, In April, Dr. Kathrine Dresden from Chico State College entertained the group of future teachers of Orland and Willows High Schools, Dr. Dresden, who spent two years in Pakistan as an exchange teacher, spoke to us dressed in a costume of Pakistan, Back row: L.
