sw,,g1xtf!ll5 May: Twenty-five members attended the State Convention and seven teams were entered in the State Judging Finals, The group received a Master Chapter Award for the tenth year. State Farmer Degrees were conferred on Andy Kaiser, Jerry Stemple, Richard Brown, Bill Simons, and Larry Lourenco, Bob Gavigan and Jack Studybaker were delegates to the State Convention. November: The F,F, A, presented a program for the Farm Bureau, held an alumni party at Enos's, and started warm- ing up a basketball team, December: Played six F,F, A, basketball games, Held a scrap drive that netted 8467, Presented a program for War Mothers Club, January: Helped sponsor the Annual Regional Bred Gilt Sale, Played eight basketball games against other schools. February: Presented program at Northern California Holstein Meeting, Entered a team in Sectional Parliamentary Pro- cedure Contest, Bob Gavigan took first in Section Public Speaking Contest, Played six basketball games against other schools. March: The McArthur Basketball Competed in Tournament, Bob Gavigan participated in the Regional Public Speaking Contest. Dan Robbins and Gavigan attended the Regional Convention, Gavigan addressed Orland Rotary Club. For entertainment we had a short talk by Darlene Lowman, who attends Chico State College and is now studying to become a teacher, She was a T,O,T, member last year, She outlined the program of a typical college freshman, We enjoyed another interesting activity when some of the members attended a meeting at Chico State College as guests of Chico State, Pat Blacet, our president, told what our club had done in the past, Another event to add to our wonderful year was a trip to Stanford University on March 8, Every year the group goes to a college of its choice, This has proved to be a very worthwhile activity, In April, Dr. Kathrine Dresden from Chico State College entertained the group of future teachers of Orland and Willows High Schools, Dr. Dresden, who spent two years in Pakistan as an exchange teacher, spoke to us dressed in a costume of Pakistan, Back row: L.
