Front row: Neal Cook and Bob Gavigan, Fall officers fnot shownj included Study- baker, Andy Kaiser, Al Benson, Dick Leifried, Richard Brown, and Stemple, 41414 ' The Orland F,F,A, had a very full schedule of activities this year and won its full share of honors: July: An F,F,A, softball team competed in the Men's League all summer, August: Noel Albright and Wayne Bartholomew exhibited at the Red Bluff Fair, September: Bob Lind won a gold medal and Ross Hicks took 4th in the State Fair Quiz, Bob also won a silver medal in Dairy Judging, Seventeen members exhibited at the Glenn County Fair, The F,F,A, sponsored a booth and also a 4th place winning float in the Fair Parade, Bill Simons won the Round Robin ifl Dairy Sh0Wm3HShiP. Egon Pfeil showed the Champion Fat Lamb, Twenty-five Green Hands were initiated this month, the Dairy Team won lst place in the Northern California Holstein Sale and Judging Contest, and members began the sale of coke and hamburgers at all home football games. November: The F,F, A, presented a program for the Farm Bureau, held an alumni party at Enos's, and started warm- ing up a basketball team, December: Played six F,F, A, basketball games, Held a scrap drive that netted 8467, Presented a program for War Mothers Club, January: Helped sponsor the Annual Regional Bred Gilt Sale, Played eight basketball games against other schools. February: Presented program at Northern California Holstein Meeting, Entered a team in Sectional Parliamentary Pro- cedure Contest, Bob Gavigan took first in Section Public Speaking Contest, Played six basketball games against other schools. March: The McArthur Basketball Competed in Tournament, Bob Gavigan participated in the Regional Public Speaking Contest. Dan Robbins and Gavigan attended the Regional Convention, Gavigan addressed Orland Rotary Club.
