In the evening Orland 27 Rutland 48 they defeated Colman, 41-35, to take the champi Orland 26 Colman 46 onship, Orland 44 Winfred 19 Orland 50 Rutland 45 DISTRICT 17 Orland 51 F ranklin 29 Orland 37 Argonne 59 Orland met Argonne in the first round of Orland 42 Winfred 30 the tournament, defeating them, 43-41. They Orland 44 Artesian 33 were unable to cope with the Howard team and Orland 67 R amona 38 went down in defeat, 48-34. Howard won the Orland 46 Franklin 42 tournament. Orland 43 Argonne 36 Orland tied with General Beadle for second place in the Lake County Conference. 25

Lois Miller is not pictured. GIRLS'BASKETBALL A girls’ basketball team was organized this year. Games were played with teams from other schools. Although they did not win many games, they enjoyed playing very much. The girls main accomplishment this year was the purchasing of a new gym suits and a basketball. Those named on the first six are: FORWARDS: Pat Clancy, Fern Williams and Betty Mae Peterson. GUARDS: Lois Miller, Marlene Wessel and Eleanor Bjorklund. 27
