Oregon State “Bombed Moscow” with more than just good football. Campus spirit reached a high point and maintained it for the entire week. House signs, pep rallies, the rook bonfire, bicycle races, all evidenced the spirit that overcame the Idaho Vandals. When the weekend was over, alums returned to their work confident that OSU was still an exciting place; students recuperated from over-activity; and a new homecoming queen, Sharon Clark, had a moment to remember forever.

Christmas comes at the wrong time for OSU students. Dead week saw frantic students take time off from their work to gather in the Quad to sing and drip candle wax on the concrete to remain there until cleaned off for graduation. Finals week activity gives time for little more than this token recognition of Christmas. The MU Christmas Party convinced wide-eyed children of the gaiety, the excitement of the season. Most students wish the kids could give them a party to show that Christmas on campus means more than long hours and tired eyes, but with finals pending, there’s just no time to show Christmas spirit until they get home for a rest.
