President Jensen comes to OSU ▼ Dr. James H. Jensen became the 11th president of Oregon State University on September 1. 1961. He came to Oregon from Iowa State University where he was vice president. His personal interest in maintaining Oregon State's position of leadership in the academic and technological fields is demonstrated by the importance he places upon the education of the men and women who constitute the university's student body. President Jensen feels “constant attention must be given to methods of procedure in admissions, teaching methods, curricula, academic standards, faculty competence and all other matters that are properly subject to the control of the institution. In spite of the many demands on his time, Dr. Jensen still manages to meet with the students on an informal basis. Governor Mark Hatfield and President Jensen discuss OSU's rapid growth.

Dean Popovich watches OSU grow ▼ Milosh Popovich, dean of administration, is responsible for coordinating the academic activities of the University. He works closely with President Jensen and acts as his representative at various meetings and conferences. The dean enjoys working with plans for adding buildings, laboratories and dormitories to our campus. One of the newest projects is a set of three dorms planned for lower campus. The first one completed, Buxton Hall, will be ready fall term, 1963. Dean Popovich exhibits the site plan for a new set of dormitories.
