Miss Johnson has been the music director at Ord for the past nine years. She prepares the vocal music students for all of the events such as the All School Variety Show, Fall Concert, Christmas Contata, and also works with the selected small groups that compete at contests inthe Spring. Swing Singers is a group of select students who must have the ability to sing and dance in front of many audiences. The Swing Choir is a public relations group for the Ord High School. This year the Swing Singers add- ed a new selection of Jazz and a Segment of the Beach Boys to their performances. Mr. Niles has been the band teacher at Ord High School for three years. His rnain goal in- volves preparing his students for pep band and marching band, which perform at most of the athletic activities throughout the school year. ln the Fall, the band travels to North Loup to march in the Popcorn Days parade. During the school year the members work hard at raising money for the trip to Kansas City. ln the spring they attend the Worlds of Fun Festival of Events. Mr. Williams shows Stacy Rice how to work one of her problems. Jason Kounovsky looks to see whats happening. I just don't seem to understand this problem in Math 4, Mrs. Bartholomew tries to ex- plain to Kris McCain. Mr. Huebner is usually found near his overhead projector when explaining Geometry and Algebra. Mr. Williams is one of the three math teachers at OHS. He teaches 7th and 8th grade Math and Geometry. In 7th and 8th grade Math classes they do: problem solving, sentences, numeratlon numbers, reasoning geometry, measurements and graphs. Mr. Huebner teaches a wide selection of math classes which includes: Algebra Il, Geometry, and Computer Science. These classes are introduced at 9th grade level and pro- ceed through your Senior year. ln Algebra students learn to solve variable ex- pressions, and algebraic equations. Geometry students will study geometric properties of the physical world and the pro- cess of logic, reasoning, and proof. Upon comple- tion of geometry, students will be able to use logical thinking and apply geometric properties to real situations in life. Mrs. BarthoIomew's class schedule consist of Algebra I, Math IV, Calculus, and Math 9. ln Algebra I the students study variable expressions and learn to solve variable equations and algebraic equations. Her calculus class is made up of study- ing the concept of polynomial, logarithmic, ex- ponential, and circular functions. In the lvlath 9 class they studied and reviewed basic operations tor whole numbers frac- tions, decimal and percents along with studying ap- plications ot mathematics to everyday life. Academrcs 43

ti Mr. Carl Streeter gives Kim Michalski an electrocardiogram tape and explains its pur- pose. Shana Leggett looks on. Mr. Dave Huston tries to make the equations seem clearer as he discusses the problem with Mike Upah. lvlr. Streeter is the Biology and Physiology teacher at OHS. ln the first semester, the biology students study living struc- tures. The second semester consists of studying the most highly developed multicellular organism-man. ln the Physiology class students go through detail- ed examinations of the systems of the human body. The class disects cats to help learn the struc- tures. A particular highlight of the class is a field trip to Kearney to see the cadaver lab and to tour the Good Samaritan Hospital. Mr. Huston teaches a wide selection of science classes which include Science 8, Chemistry, Advanced Chemistry, Business Math, and Physics. ln these classes they perform many experiments. Mr. Bar- tholomew instructs the 7th and 9th grade science classes. They learn Physical and Lite science, Genetics, and rocketry. Mr. Bartholomew poses for the camera. . Academics 45
