The Ord High system purchased four new com- puters this year which now adds to a total of eight. Classes involved with the computers in- clude Word Processing, which is an indepen- dent courseg Keyboarding a class offered for seventh graders, that advances and prepares I told you never to go beyond this much, says Mr, Bosworth. that student for future typing classesg Office Procedures which involves word processing, office filing, and managing on the computer, Accounting is taught by Ed Bosworth and Dave Shrader. lvfr, Huebner also teaches Computer Science and is also involved with the three classes in BASIC programing and PASCAL which is a correspondence course offered through the UN-L. Mrs, Erikson helps Raylene Barta figure out a topic for her career paper. 11 f- v Mrs. Erikson peeks to see if anyone is in the library. Library Science is an in- dividualized course in which students learn the procedures used in operating the library by working with the materials. In addition, Library Science students learn to use the , various resources available in the library, both by structured lessons and by helping other students find and use the resources available in the high school library. Fioxanne Kriewald, The largest change in the English department was the ad- dition of the weekly vocabulary unit. Mr. Pallas, a graduate of UN-L, taught his first year. His classes include teaching tenth and eleventh grades. The courses consist of reading short stories and novels, writing short essays, and grammar exercises. Another scholar in the English department is Miss Freberg, She teaches grades 9-12. The course content for the freshman consists of writing, express thought, and literature. The juniors work with American Literature, and the senior course includes college writing and British Literature. Mrs. Berigan teaches 7th and 8th grade English.-Just like the other classes, the students learn to study vocabulary develop' ment, grammar, composition, and literature. Mr. Calleroz teaches the freshman class. The content of the class includes reading novels paragraph writing, short stories, poetry, essays, and vocabulary.
