Young The 1984-85 Varsity girls' track team was made up of 12 members. The two top scorers were Tammy Vancura with 46 points and Christi Hehnke with 42 points. Vancura set a new school record in the shotput with a throw of 37'7V2 . Coach Cecetka quoted, The seniors showed good leadership and the underclassmen gave us good depth. The top finishes of the year included a fifth place finish at the Loup City Invitational and a sixth place finish at the Broken Bow Invitational. Relay Flecord Broken ' --- -.AMP 1984-85 Junior High Girls' Track Team, Back Flow: Diane Warner, Wanda Weir, Ellen Hopkins, Daw Markowski, Chrystal Augustyn, Heidi Weir, Erin Konkoleski, Shelly Masin, Tit- fany Clement, Ann Holt, and Coach Kelly Clemens. Front Row: Amy Grooms, Carla Loft, Jaimie Anderson, Tahma Melia, Erica Radil, Kelly Cook, Patty Smith, and Shelly Johnson. The Junior High girls' track team had a long and rainy season. Through sweat and a few tears during competition, the teams' results were in the top three at each meet except the Loup City Invitational and Central Con- ference Meet. All twenty-three girls endured the season. Highlights incuded breaking the 2-mile relay record at Loup City. The girls learned that track takes a lot of self-discipline and effort to help themselves and their teammates for the winning times and measurements at the meets, said Coach Clemens.
