Remember the night we were handed our diplomas which meant to us a beginning of another step in life? We seniors have been in many activities and have shown fine leadership. Most of all we must not forget our Senior boys who played so heartily in baseball and basketball. We are also proud of our three cheerleaders, Beverley Gross, Carol Herrmann, and Janis Fehr. Other seniors who received honors were Judy Folgate who won the I Speak For Democracy contest in this areag Pat Brookover who participated in the clarinet quartet which went down stateg and Delores Reeser, Leila Sigafus, and Donna Gift who were members of the baton twirling squad which went down state. Donna Gift also Went down state with her single in twirling. We are sure that our class play, Hats Off To Grandma, and our Christmas dance, Snow Flake Swirl was enjoyed by everyone. For the second time in our high school days we, as seniors, won the Maga- zine Drive. Our class otlicers are as follows: President . . . . Ed Enzinger Secretary . . Then Bill Schmid, the great big man. always does the best he can. And big Bill Dorsey the rebound guy he's the kind who'll never say die. Toni Barker, a real slick shot. keeps all opponents on the spot. Dick Stabenow is a forward sly. He puts the ball thru smooth as pie. Bill Blankenhorn is another good shot. always in there, really hot. Bill Schwarze is the tallest lad. When he's playing it makes us glad. Bob Doc Davidson, a junior reserve. plays the game with lots of verve. En Enzinger. a senior with a lot of fight just the boy for a spot that's tight. Eugene Gross, last but not least. his skill has rapidly increased. The man behind this fighting team. Coach Dick Staas, the players' dream. vs' V 5 J, Q , M, W 455 W M f Im X31 ,,1, ap Q of J an Bev Sandy B ev A CHEER FOR THE CHEERLEADERS The most faithful fan for the basketball club is Beverley Gross. She needs no sub. She has been a cheerleader all four years and as head cheerleader she has made herself dear to players and fans alike. Her popularity shows- she was elected head cheerleader as a Junior and Senior both. Her leadership, enthusiasm, and will to win have spurred the boys on to 'try, try again'. Rah, Yea, Beverley! Another Senior girl on the cheerleading squad is Janis Fehr. For three years we have seen her jumping high in the air. She is interested in the whole team, but es- pecially in Bill. When he makes those baskets, it is really a thrill. She cheers him on and the rest of the team, too. She gives us her best. What more can she do? Rah, Yea, Jan! Carol Sharon Carol Hermann is another Senior girl. For two years we have watched her swirl and whirl as she cheers the boys on with lots of high kicks and shows them how well she does flips and splits. Rah, Yea, Carol! Sharon Freese is the only Junior in the bunch but she really has lots of punch. Her fighting spirit is so keen, It helps the boys get on the beam. Three years of cheerleading have been a test but she'll be back next year to give her best. Rah, Yea, Sharon! A Sophomore, Sandra Rodebaugh, is the best acrobat of them all. Two years of experience on the basketball floor, next year she'll be back for more. Rah, Yea, Sandy! A Sophomore girl in her first season is Beverley Blankenhorn. She'll be back next year with pep and vigor to carry on. Rah, Yea, Beverly! Now you know the girls in the ranks. Let's give them all our heartiest thanks! 15 W ,.. Baseball COACHES Since Mr. Staas came to our faculty in Jan- uary '54 he has achieved high recognition as a coach, teacher, and a fine friend. We are look- ing forward to his being our varsity coach for years to come. Our Frosh-Soph coach, Mr. Cole, in the last two years has produced championship teams. He also coached the grade school team to many victories the last seasons. BRAVO TO COACH COLE!! lfew is wil Huis Off To Grandma On November 5, 1954, the Senior Class presented a three act comedy drama, entitled Hats Off To Grandma, by J. Vincent Barrett, under the direction of Mrs. Karl Koch. The story revolves around the mischievous prank of a wealthy old lady who gets tired of her social existence and, on the spur of the moment, answers an ad in the paper for a cook. Annie as she calls herself, goes to work for the Talmadge family in a small community, and immediately finds herself involved in the problems of all concerned. Naturally none of the Talmadges know that i'Annie is a famous millionaire. Not even the audience knows this until the last act. They think she is simply a darling old lady who has come to their house as a cook and has endeared herself to each and everyone of them by the wonderful manner in which she straightens out their individual problems.
