DO YOU FEEL THAT ADDED OOMPH ! FROM the happy people on KOIR, the Voice of Orange - view, who consistently awakened you with their words of wisdom at that much too early hour? FROM the student council, our hot shot politicians — Democracy In Action At Orangeview? FROM the student court which periodically dispensed INJUSTICE? FROM the dance committee which offered las opportunities to exhibit our , excellent coordination? rj Jk - ' FROM the Speaking and Debating Team, our windy Patrick Henrys, who, although l y ' we hate to admit it, are becoming pros with their prose? jg FROM the Honor Society members, who somehow managed to fatten their scholastic stand- ing with an extremely EDUCATIONAL trip to Disneyland just before Christmas? FROM our Stamp Club; well renowned as the LICK ' EM AND STICK ' EM bunch who treasure their correspondence ? FROM the Science Club, our budding Von Brauns? FROM the gym teachers who cultivated our athletic abilities to give us that young, invigorated, full of vim, vigor, and vitality look? FROM our core teachers, who reigned over us with the Iron Rule, and yet somehow dnmimed a smidgen of knowledge into our brains (?) ? FROM the business education teachers who brought up oui Orangeview HUNT AND PECKERS and our DO -IT YOURSELFERS? FROM the Crazy Hat Day which revealed the talents of our would-be milliners? FROM our campias cleanup campaign which finally resulted in the siaspension of nutrition? J c:. Zn o i= M,.. So this self portrait we do submit And though it may be true; We wouldn ' t change a bit of it For this is Orangeview ! !

1961 YEARBOOK STAFF Joanne Rice Mike Ralston Advisor Mr. Pittma ;, Editor Sue Drake Room 22 It was just another day in the lives of most of the Orangeview students, but, for the yearbook staff it was a race against time. Though school had been long dismissed, a light still burned in Room 22. Let ' s take a closer look I Working on the dance maze, Jane and Joanne are taking turns trying to fit that round picture into a square space. Too bad it isn ' t a picture of their advisor ! ! ! No ! No ! Barbara, you just can ' t stretch a picture after it ' s cut too short! Steve Hug -a -buggy, having completed his work, is relaxing in a corner enjoying the melodious strains of his sonorous voice. Carol, what are you doing on the floor? . . . Looking for a page of lost teacher ' s pictures? Some- body call the police, quick? F And there ' s that nice Bill Bergstrom spraying Sandy ' s hair so she can devote her undi- vided attention to the completion of the index. Mike (chop) Ralston is coming back from the photo lab bringing the Orangeview shutter-bugs with the last batch of pictures. It looks as though, with the assistance of Karen Rolle, Bill Davis and Herb Lee have done inspired work in the darkroom. In just a few moments Mr. Pittman and Sue will finish putting the final (?) wrappings on the 1961 yearbook. (PS: The identities of all individuals in this narration remained true for the express purpose of incriminating the guilty.)
