ts the summer of '86 wound down, stu- nts began to settle back into the everyday itines of school. Fall athletes came back 'ly to gear up for the coming season, and he students frantically searched for rea- 1s not to come back at all. But as usual, :ryone came around, excited by curiou- f and the advent of another year. Soon summer became a dim memory for ist. Laying on beaches and beside pools, well as frequent trips to the air condition- North County Fair occupied a lot of stu- 1ts' days. Full or part timejobs and sum- :r school may not have been on the top of : list of priorities but they proved benefi- l in the end. However, the nights were the hottest part of the summer. There was al- ways something good to do. The movie the- aters were alwaysjumping on Mondays and Tuesdays when admission was only a dollar. The experience was always more social than theatrical though. Local dance clubs, such as After Dark and Distillery East usually of- fered free or discount admission on Wednes- days and Thursdays, as well as a few con- certs with semi-popular bands occasionally. Everyone came out on the weekends. Val- ley Parkway continued its amazing reign of poularity with several car and truck clubs cruising on Friday and Saturday Nights. Quik Corner remained the party hotline or just a hangout when there wasn't anything good going on The usual summer activities also came into play such as camping at the beach, wa- terskiing at the river, sailing, skateboarding and everyone's favorite sport, surfing. This summer San Diego County hosted a phe- nomenal array of exceptional acts such as The Cure, Depeche Mode, the Smiths, Van Halen, INXS, and Run-DMC. However we spent our summer, its com- forting to know that it was spent in the best way possible and the memories made were unforgettable. For a lot of us, it was our last summer as high school students and as we venture into the real world as it were, those memories will always make us smile. D l' Soaking up the rays, Cristina Whiteley and Joann Napier pretend to be lifeguards. A group of football players sit around the campfire during the Sierra trip over the summer. Modeling the furs at Nordstroms Felicia Bunce and Leonora Whiteley show us what fun it is to be rich. Knowing summer has come to an end Stacy Trafton and Vicki Van Hom spend a day at the beach together. Caught off guard Duffy Daugherty and Ricky Martinez spend their free time together.
