Ol' all the treasures of this world, there is 'ine more precious than diamonds, and inore priceless than gold. This treasure is ntangible, but it provides the most open iomrnunicatiun, the noblest suffering, the severest truth, the heartiest counsel and the 'greatest union of minds of which we are ca- uahle. Without friends, life would seem dull and colorless, Good friends add vibrant col- 'mr lo a too oftenly grey place. Friendship improves happiness and abates misery, by doubling ourjoy and di- viding our grief. lt provides the chance to talk about everything, and when there is nothing to say, the silence is not uncomfort- able. A good friend will never leave when you are down, and is always there to encour- age and give support on your way back up. Jealousy is defeated by immense pride, and a smile or a touch is worth more than a million words. There is no one word that can describe the feeling of true friendship but support, sympathy, solace, joy, pain, dc- spair, gratitude, relief and love combine to produce that wonderful feeling. Great com- fort is found in the knowledge that no matter where you go, what you do, however numer- ous your faults and grave your mistakes, there is someone who takes you and loves you for what you are, with no requirements or expectations, ol anything in return.
