Deca Involved in any Activities Developing future leaders in marketing and distribution was the main goal of the Deca club. The 40 members learned retail- ing and business by gaining actual experience from the various activities in which they participated. The club raised its funds from various activities, several of which were the football conces- sion stands, a Christmas gift wrapping booth and other fund raising sales. Deca contributes half of their funds from football concession stands to A.S.B. This has amounted to over 52,500 during the last four years. The Deca club also operated the student store for its first full year. The funds for this were used only to expand and im- prove the store. On January 21, Orange Glen hosted the All-County Deca conference at which students from all the schools in San Diego County competed for awards and prizes in various marketing areas. This also in- cluded a dance and a banquet. In March the Deca club co- hosted the State Conference with over 1,000 students in at- tendance. For this event, Sea World was reserved for an eve- ning and the entire Hilton Hotel was used exclusively for Deca for a period of three days. The DECA national conference was held in Anaheim for one week in April. Over 10,000 students from all states and other countries participated. Our Deca club helped with this event. The Orange Glen High School Deca club is presided over by Andrea Cruz. The officers of this actively involved club are: David Holt-Civic Vice-Presi- dent, Eddie Cruz-Fund-raising- Vice-Presidentg Mark Erikson- Social Vice-Presidentg Debbie Sneary-Treasurer, and Debbie Onaha-Secretary. a. The Guitar club meets once a week after school and occasion- ally during fifth lunch. The club plays most types of music, all of them just for fun. The Guitar club was open to everyone and was advised by Mrs. Raven. Little to no snow halted any definite planning of ski trips until after the Christmas break. Mrs. Bohannon, the ski club ad- visor, hopes to arrange trips to Mammoth andfor a weekend trip to the northwestern states. Anyone with an interest in skiing may join the new club which meets Thursdays after school. a. The Guitar club, L-R: Jeff Stock, Michael Chesney, Sandy Smith, Rick Jorgensen and Thomas Krueger. b.
