Boys Ano Qmls Sandra Erickson Paul Moyneur State Repnesentatlves Boy's and Girl's State representatives are chosen by the American Legion and the American Legion Auxiliary, respectively. The represent- atives are nominated by the faculty. The nominations are based on four important qualities: lj He or she should show potential leadership. 2.1 He or she should have the ability to get along with others and an interest in government and in hislher community. 3.j He or she must have qualities of honesty and courage. 4.1 He or she should be in the upper third of hisfher class scholastically. The purpose of Boy's and Girl,s State is teaching the students the role each citizen must play under our system of government. Girl's State was held on the University of California, Davis campus. The Sacramento Fairgrounds was the meeting place of Boy's State. Both Sandra and Paul wish more students could have the opportunity of participating in Girl's or Boy's State.

'The Datmots ave ARRIVGO' This has been a familiar slogan in the Escondido community during this year.- -A highly successful Accreditation Report by the Western Association of School and Colleges, excellent academic achievement by students, vigorous participation in responsible student governmentg and rewarding exper- iences in co-curricular activities. All of this is very exciting and, indeed, important however, I submit that this 'com- ing of age' is most importantly expressed by a new sophistication which exemplifies the graduates of the class of 1968. Here and elsewhere we have been seeing an ever increas- g ing interest among students to become more directly involved in the operation of programs designed to meet student needs - and this is good! Excellent student talent, good judg- ment, and an abundance of genuine enthusiasm during the past four years have soundly established Orange Glen High School as a leading secondary school in this county. On behalf of the staff may I offer sincere congratulations and best wishes for a happy and successful future. We appreciate the part each of you has played in enhancing the image of the Patriots.
