Art Club Along with its adviser Mrs. Nancy West, the Art Club traveled to La Jolla and Ramona for sketching trips. The club also planned a poster service program so that it could make money in order to visit the Los Angeles Art Museum. Auto Club This past year the Auto Club held a trouble-shooting contest in order to raise money to sponsor a scholarship for a boy interested in continuing his education In auto mechanics. Interclub Council Lettermen Club The Lettermen Club is a service organization at Orange Glen advised by Mr. Richard Disney. The club raises money to buy useful items, primarily ath¬ letic equipment, for the school. To obtain these funds the club sponsors the popular Harlem Clowns game each year. LEFT TO RIGHT: V. Pres. Russian Club Just formed this year under the supervision of Miss Strode, the Russian Club has been quite busy learn¬ ing about Russian culture both old and new. FTA The purpose of the Future Teachers of America Is to generate interest in the teaching profession. Their goal for the future is to start a Cadet Teaching Pro¬ gram to help students become involved in teaching. The adviser is Mrs. Allen. LEFT TO RIGHT: V. Pres. Beth Strong, Pres. Debate Club MEMBERS, LEFT TO RIGHT: Pete O ' Connell, Robert Schaible, Steve Kane, Steve Adamson, and Ruth Herman. High points of this year ' s speech activities were: the Palomar J. C. debate, the North County Speech League tournament, first place won by Pete O ' Connell in the American Legion speech tournament, the Voice of Democracy tournament won by Sue Simpson, and the semi-finals reached by Pete O ' Connell at the San Diego State College speech tournament. The future looks bright for the club since all debaters will return In 1967-1968. Literary Club LEFT TO RIGHT: Treas. Margy Miller, Pres. Beth Strong, V. Pres. Frank Svoboda, Mr. Robert Marsala. The Literary Club this year has gone to see several outstanding motion pictures. Including Dr. Zhivago, and Hawaii. They also published the third Issue of the Literary Magazine, under the supervision of Mr. Marsala. 27

Simmons Orange Glen ' s 1966-67 Musket staff not only produced an excellent newspaper but also put out the football rosters sold at all five home games. In addition, the future journalists pioneered a new public relations pro¬ gram for the school. The Musket staff, advised by Mrs. Annelle Simmons, should be commended for the fine job they did in all three fields. Musket staff works to complete paper. Staff pours over a past issue layout. 29
