Dear Students, Quite often the criticism is voiced that the teen- ager of today does not follow a worthy set of goals, is a carefree and careless individual living a day to day existence, is a selfish individual with no thought given to the welfare of his fel lowman or to the coun- try which has given him so much. These same criti- cisms were advanced fifty years ago, a hundred years ago and, yes, even several hundred years ago. The criticism of today's teenagers is as questionable now as it was in the past. lt is true that a certain small percentage of stu- dents in our own district fall into the category de- scribed in the preceding paragraph. However, those working closely with students realize that the per- centage is small and that the vast majority of students are striving to achieve and live by a worthy set of goals. As evidence we point with pride to the achievements, attitudes, spirit of cooperation and self-discipline of our students which is worthy of commendation in every respect. We are proud of your records and achievements. We especially congratulate members of the Class of '65 for their leadership during the past four years. Regards, G. W. Quade G. W. Mr. Patrick V. Ross Principal Shall we give them 10 or 15? Growth and progress have been the hallmark of 1965. Growth in population and the means to support these millions, growth in the opportunities afforded all Americans to live together with greater respect for human dignity and greater tolerance for human shortcomings. We have seen great pro- gress in the sciences, a renewed appreciation for the arts, indeed, we have seen progress in every area of man's endeavor. Growth and progress are, likewise, the hallmark of Orange Glen High School. Recall that just three short years ago, Orange Glen High School opened its doors to a student body of iust under four hun- dred and fifty students. Our new campus was filled to capacity and there was much work to be done. We now have a student population of iust over ten hundred and fifty. Our campus is filled to capacity and there is still much work to be done . The task before us, however, will be accomplished! The dedication and demonstrated excellence of the class of 1965 will serve as a standard and an incen- tive to all future Patriots . lt is with a deep sense of pride and gratifi- cation that I extend congratulations and bid fare- well to the young ladies and gentlemen of our first graduating class. l am confident that your pursuit of excellence will continue throughout your lives. Sincer ly, if Patrick V . Ross Mr. K. Allen Foucar Vice Principal
