Vocational Nursing Vocational nursing students at Coast are being trained by the OCC vocational nursing faculty for hospital duty in medical and obstetrical fields and for positions in doctors ' offices and sanitariums. Pre-clinical training in the one-year course is received on the OCC campus. Clin- ical training is conducted by OCC vocational nursing staff at the extended campuses of the community hospitals. Heart of the professional nursing program is on the Oronge Coast College campus. Professional Nursing Pioneering in the new two-year professional nursing program, Orange Coast College offered the course for the first time this year. OCC has the responsibility of control over the program on its campus where the nursing students share learning and deevloping experiences with 2000 other students. Experience in natient-side care is received at the extended campuses of community hospitals under the direction of the OCC professional nursing faculty. At the extended campuses in the hosiptals, the professional nursing student at Orange Coast College learns patient-side care.
