Sfjrity XH rty (k6oi6es Rapid technological changes in industry have pointed the way to the need for a completely new concept in Technical Education. The area of training that industry has indicated as its greatest need is that of the trained technician. The technician is equally trained in theory and practical appli- cation in the industrial processes. Orange Coast College, through the use of advisory com- nnittees made up of men who are well informed as to the needs of industry, is meeting this demand. The Technology division offers two opportunities for its students: the Vocational program emphasizing practical ap- plications in each industrial area, and the Technician ' s Cer- tificate program, emphasizing practical aspects and the technical-related information. The flexibility of the Orange Coast College Technical program in meeting the needs of Industry by the proper training of its graduates is helping to fill an important area in the industrial picture of Orange County.
