Students Participate in State Government Each year two boys and one girl are chosen from the junior class to represent O.H.S. at Boys ' and Girls ' State. These students are chosen by the faculty on the basis of their character, scholarship, and potential leader- ship. The purpose of these week long conven- tions is to educate students of high school age in the duties, privileges, and responsibilities of citizenship; to provide an opportunity for them to participate in the actual functioning of their government. Every delegate has a definite and integral part in the function of the convention and learns the procedure of his government. in Miiu-i ' i vette Peck 122
