We'll always remember friendships true Before parting starts some anew. When all is said and done And we've our diplomas won, We'll say--'twas worth all the strifeg 'Twill mean starting a new life, A new life based on the old Where we practice what teachers have told. But always will we remember The troubles we've had--great and small And how together we've faced them all. How could we forget our teachers dearg They were a favorite part of our senior year. Memories of all these will we forever retain And think back to them again and again. Kenneth Burrow- - Class Poet Pink and Silver

Zhu? The date is May 24, 1990, thirty years from now. The place Oneonta, Alabama, one of the largest cities in the state. Yes, this city has really grown since that year when the best class of Oneonta High School graduated, the class of '60. I am going to make a few visits on the way to the hotel to see if any of the old gang is still around. As I leave the Oneonta National Airport, I see a large statue in the center of a park. This beauti- ful statue, carved out of Alabama marble, was erected in memory of JAMES LOWELL GREGORY. As I come closer I can read the inscription: In memory of James Lowell Gregory, known as the Abraham Lincoln of the South, died January 30, 1985. And now as I am well on my way, on my left, far in the distance I see the home of DOUGLAS LOWE famous multi-millionaire. He has many hobbies, but one of the strangest of these is that he gives away million dollar bills once a month. The beautiful green hills of clover to the right are the 30, 000-acre estate of JIMMY LOWE, Douglas' cousin. It seems that he got lucky, too! And next - well this is strange! Here is FROGGY FREDDIES' FROG FARM. Yes, Freddie Dean is raising frogs for the government because of her love for them. She distributes them all over the United States. Well, I see that the circus is in town. Maybe I should stop for a while. This is a big surprisel As the curtain opens to reveal the strongest woman in the world, I see GINGER INGRAM. She can lift over one thousand pounds above her head. In the next bootn, I see Annie, the tattooed lady. Can you guess who this is? Why, of course! It's ANNE TIDWELL. And now to the big top for the show. At last I am seated and my attention is drawn to the top of the tent, where the trapeze artists are about to begin. It's not surprising to find that the daring young man on the flying trapeze is JOHNNY GRAVES. The show is over and now I have to get back to the car. I am going down main street and I find that a very famous opera star is at the Neely Theatre. She is RUTH CAROL KITCHENS. The Demo- crat Office, which is next door, puts out 60, 000 papers daily. The editor is KENNETH BURROWS. CAROL BATTLES and BARBRA DEERMAN really have the business these days. They have a taxi service to and from the county line. Wonder how long it will last! Next, on our leftl see the Paris Lonely Hearts Club. PATSY PARIS is the owner. Some of her worthy members are MARTHA MILLER, JUDY CHESSER, and ELIZABETH WARREN. Whom are they sending their letters to? As I pass by the police department, I see the ten most wanted men of whom LARRY EPPERSON and BILL HYDE are at large. They are two of the most notorious men in the United States. DANNY WOOD- ARD, chief of police, says that it all began when the class of '60 went to Washington. I surely am hearing a lot about the Tweezers Corporation. RUSSELL SPARKS is the owner and pres- ident. He finally invented automatic tweezers. I have some news from Hollywood that just came in. Well, well! I see that TOMMY CORVIN has a new contract as Tarzan. No, Tommy doesn't look like the same person. Also I see that Dale Evans has lost her title as the Queen of the Cowgirls and JEWANDA REEVES has gained it. NowI am passing the beautiful mansion of LEE HANSON. It seems that he went into bankruptcy and would not have made it if it wasn 't for Douglas Lowe and his million dollars. Lee has managed to hire a full-time maid named CAROL SMITH, who just loves doing his house work for him. The next home is that of the mayor of the city ofOneonta, Honorable BRUCE PHILLIPS. Wouldn't you know it! He spends his time signing papers and playing golf. I guess you 've been wondering where those three stooges, CHARLES FENDLEY, JERRY GREEN, and GAYLON BROTHERS are. Well, they are in Africa again. They are on one of those long safaris. This is their last though, because they have finally decided to stop their running around and get married. The next house is the former home of the President of the United States. Yes, the women of Oneonta have finally made it. Our worthy President, MOLLIE BAGGETT. When I think of TOMMY HALLMAN, I think of his glass factory. He is the No. 1 glass-blower, while DAVID NEWSOM shapes the glass for him. These two make a fine pair. MM-M, what do I smell? Donuts from Fay and Fern 's Donut Shop? Yes, FAY and FERN CORNEL- IUS make the best donuts this side of Allgood. They have some real good helpers, too! NANCY COL- LETT and CAROLYN GILLILAND really enjoy cutting the holes in them.
