J..a5.... Mrs Louise Sutton served as chairman ot the Aurora Committee tor the tenth consecu tive year Also helping her were the student committee members Charlene Fraley and Da vid Knauber ln special commemoration ot Omaha s one hundredth anniversary a portion of the show was set aside as a Salute to Omaha The acts included in this portion depicted the early lite and settlement ot Omaha A Salute to Omaha kick line introduced the Centennial theme With selected members of the choir furnish Soloist Carol Wolters in the choir number Marilyn Dennis dances ln a Persian Garden Student Committee members David Knauber and Charlene Fraley assist Mrs Sutton Strike Up the Band with Janeen Blanche and Diane Two Tapping ing background music there were intricate rope spinning tricks by Jim Rossi and an au thentic lndian spear and shield dance per formed by Jerry Larson and Jack Mleynek A ukelele duo featured Sharon Quest and Susan Ewing A pantomime under the direction of Miss Margaret Nielsen depicted an old tash ioned school marm and her class during Oma ha s early days The Salute to Omaha por tion was concluded with the entire cast sing ing the Omaha Centennial Song The 54 Aurora also featured the normal amount ot song and dance routines while the vocal department provided the Song of Man Fred Corbino s antics as the maestro for the Typewriter Song gave a note of comedy while Jo Elyn Wakefield caused a sensation with her lighted baton routine The grand finale brought the entire cast to the stage for the Aurora Song Tones Judy and Claudia Liberace Corbino faces the music with a typewriter Janet Dresher and Nancy French in Date Night finishing touches go on Shirley Settles make up x25 , . . . . .
